CKJM is a fully non-profit Co-operative organization serving the communities of Chéticamp, St-Joseph-du-Moine and Margaree.
Our coverage area includes the entire western side of Cape Breton Island and Antigonish County with our repeater in Pomquet at 92.5 FM. We offer up to 10% english programming per week including a bilingual Radio-Bingo every Friday night which is greatly supported by listeners from as far away as Pomquet. We also broadcast a Gaelic show every Saturday, "Aiseirigh Nan Gàidheal".
Marketing surveys have shown that in our coverage area, 90% of the population who listen to the radio listens to CKJM on a regular basis; that's a coverage area of well over 5,000 people.
We are one of 31 community radio stations across Canada that are a part of the RFA Network - a nation-wide radio service providing us with news, sports and entertainment.
We have also received several awards from the Alliance of Canadian Community Radio Stations (ARC) for broadcasting, commercials, station identifications, fundraising, community enterprise and awareness.
CKJM boasts a state-of-the-art production studio for commercial production, national programming and CD production; Ashley MacIsaac, J.P. Cormier and Ronald Bourgeois are just some of the artists that have recorded here.
We are a proud supporter of local Acadian and Scottish music as well as East Coast Music; much of our programming is dedicated to the promotion of these artists, their music and their culture.
